Heather Treadway is a Portland based fashion designer and costumer. Her line HT, has been described as Soft Geometry. Architectural and androgynous in form, HT is unique sportswear for the fashion forward, active individual. Taught to sew by her quilter + seamstress mother as a young kid, she never stopped designing and sewing clothing for heself and friends. After graduating with a BA in cultural studies from The Evergreen State College in 2002, she launched her first line Paperdoll which was carried in eight boutiques around the US as well as internationally online. Some clients include: The Northwest Dance Project, Top Shake Dance, Secret Drum Band, Portlandia, Big Freedia, members of the Gossip, Kimya Dawson, and Thao (Thao and the Get Down Stay Down). As a fashion designer, she has participated in various fashion shows and events including Ace Hotel's Content, The Portland Mercury's annual fashion show Open Season, and China Design Now at the Portland Art Museum. In late 2014 she embarked on a second clothing line called HT+RP, a collaboration between heself and Queen Bee owner, Rebecca Pearcy. She is debuting her wool cloak line Canter, this Summer for Winter 2016/17. She shares her wisdom and passion for sewing by teaching at Modern Domestic and offers business mentorship, community + skill building at Klumhouse.
